Pie birds

New order for the PIE SAFE in Pocahontas.  It is a cute little artisan bakery in an old bank building right in the middle of the town of Pocahontas.  Can't miss it with the cool graphic on the side of the building. (artist Craig Thomas)Just got the order and trying to dry them out in the microwave so I can fire them today...they want them for the scenic drive this COMING weekend....hope they don't explode.  That is what happens if I fire them in the kiln before they are completely dry.  Water molecules "boil" out and boom...no more pie bird.  Keeping my fingers crossed they fly through it ok.  J Brick Pottery

Bilderbach's Art Plaza  February 2013 Love is in the air at the Plaza! We are lovin the changes in all of the galleries and at Dockside and we are ready to celebrate! The Spring Art Festival is being organized in cooperation with Best of Missouri Hands, www.bestofmissourihands.org  

We are really excited about our Spring Art Festival, there will be artist booths as well as an art exhibit.  All of this in addition to the art you will find in the galleries at the Bilderbach Art plaza.

During the month of January Herb Wickham will be the guest artist in the Front Window Gallery.  Herb's art work reflects the rustic poignant atmosphere of Missouri. His chosen subjects invite viewers to recall personal experiences and perhaps envision the lives and trails of those once there.

Freestyle mosaic Class… Make a wall art piece by using your own imagination.

October 20, 2012 9-3pm

• You will learn how to score and break glass with a pattern of your own choosing. Follow-up class will be grouting your finished work of art! ($45 project supplies will be supplied)

• Mosaic classes - Business groups, girls night out or individual. Classes will be two sessions long.

•  Pottery classes – private and group classes, classes will be at least two sessions: one to make and one to glaze.

• Bead making $20 includes clay, firing and glazes (for 1# of clay) class size limit is 6

• Slab leaf dish or tray ($25 for three small or one large leaf, clay, firing, glazes)

•  Slab vase ($35, 1 or 2- 7 inch vases, clay, firing, glazes)

• Wheel throwing, beginning and advanced ($20 a lesson)

•  Empty bowls project..FREE (class size limit 12)
