Stormy Weather
First Friday Art Walk is always interesting at the Studio. The people who attend are always fun to talk with and my favorites are "first timers". They are ussually amazed to hear how long the Arts have been apart of Cape Girardeau and how many accomplished artists that are here locally.
Even though the weather was stormy and threatening, and many were carrying umbrellas "just in case", 225 people attended. I'm curious if any of the "first timers" were out because of the article written by James Samons in the SEMissourian Live Section. Basically it was the good bad and ugly of how the Arts are supported by the media, and local groups etc. I was pleased to see there wasn't too much of the ugly side. We thank the SeMissourian for bringing attention to the Art Galleries in Cape. Most of us do not have a budget for advertising and rely on social media and anything FREE to get the word out about the talented artists we feature in our Galleries.
So the bottom line is Thank you to all those who braved the stormy weather, celebrated our 2nd Anniversary of our Grand opening, and showed support for our awesome featured artist Leslie Compass! Buy Local!!
